Our campaign efforts continue!
Houston Design Collaborative was founded to spark cross-disciplinary conversations and action around design, planning, development, fabrication, and construction in Greater Houston. Our vision is to build a vibrant and engaged design community!
Through our crowdfunding campaign, “WE ARE HERE”, we aim to raise $35,000 to launch the organization and create a solid financial foundation for HDC to fulfil our vision.
Each contribution will support programming and events.
DONATE NOW. & THANK YOU.
Check our our new ABOUT page to learn more about HDC and our Corporate, Foundation & Individual Donors.

Please join us for a tour of Sarofim Hall, the new home for the Department of Art, in Rice University’s School of Humanities and Arts, designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro, with Jackson & Ryan as Architect of Record, and built by Austin Commercial. It carries forward the university’s founding commitment to the arts, noted in the words “letters, science, and art” carved into Lovett Hall more than a century ago. It is a space designed to encourage collaboration with references to Rice’s early Art Barn and Media Center, previously located on the site. It is meant to be a living building — in use around the clock, serving students in every medium and welcoming the Houston public for exhibitions, film screenings in the Rice Cinema, and collaborative events with community organizations and institutions.
